Brian C. Roach, M.D., received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry at Harvey Mudd College, and Medical Degree and Residency training at University of California, San Diego, California. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine. In addition to his clinical work as a primary care physician, he has held many health care leadership roles, including: Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and Chief of the Professional Staff at Mills Hospital, member of the Board of Directors for Mills-Peninsula Hospitals and Health Services, member of the Board of Directors of Bay Pacific Health Plan, member of several Sutter Health committees and councils, the Board of Directors of the National IPA Coalition (NIPAC), the Board of Directors of the California Association of Physicians Group (CAPG) and the Board of Directors of the American Medical Group Association (AMGA).
Dr. Roach is the founding President and CEO of the Mills-Peninsula Medical Group (MPMG). Under his leadership, MPMG and its physicians have become increasingly clinically integrated through the expansion of MPMG operated primary care clinics, the implementation of the NextGenR practice management and electronic medical record (EMR) systems and multiple clinical quality and disease management programs. He has also been very active in planning for the future of San Mateo County's healthcare delivery system, with the coordination and integration of patient care responsibilities with the local hospital a core value for MPMG. At the state level, he has been very active in advocacy for IPAs and medical groups having served as the Chair of the California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG) Public Policy Committee.

Kim Noon joined MPMG in 1997 and has been responsible for a wide range of operational areas, including: Finance, Information Systems, Physician and Plan Contracting, Enrollment, and Claims. Ms. Noon's accomplishments include the development of MPMG operating, financial, budgeting and reporting systems and procedures. Ms. Noon was the lead for the MPMG claims system computer conversion that was successfully implemented in July of 1998 as well as being responsible for the most recent system conversion in January 2003. Ms. Noon has also been key to the improvement in the operating efficiencies of MPMG.
Prior to MPMG, Ms. Noon served as a consultant installing medical claims systems and acted as the Chief Operating Officer in several Bay Area IPAs and MSOs. Ms. Noon also served as the Operations Director for the Muir Medical Group IPA . Ms. Noon received her BA degree from California State University, Chico in 1982.

Philip M Oravetz, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., Vice President and Senior Medical Director, joined MPMG as Vice President and Senior Medical Director in February, 2002. Dr. Oravetz is responsible for all medical management initiatives at MPMG,and represents MPMG's clinical initiatives in the Sutter system, and throughout the state of California. Dr. Oravetz is Board Certified in Family Practice, holds a CAQ in Geriatrics and practiced as a primary care physician for eight years in Southern California before transitioning to medical management. Dr. Oravetz received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut, his MPH from UCLA, and an MBA degree from the University of California-Irvine.

Sharon Katz, R.N., N.D., joined MPMG in July of 2001 as the Vice President of Medical Management and is responsible for the strategic development, planning, oversight and management of medical management programs including credentialing, quality improvement, case management and utilization management. Ms. Katz is the lead for the MPMG Pay-for Performance initiatives. Ms. Katz has 15 years of managed care experience and has held positions in medical management for both physician organizations and health plans. She participates in the California Cooperative Healthcare Reporting Initiative (CCHRI) Patient Assessment Survey Project Committee and the CCHRI Reporting Committee. She previously was Corporate Director of Quality Improvement and Care Management for Brown and Toland Physician Services Organization. Ms. Katz earned her nursing degree from Case Western Reserve University and her undergraduate degree from the University of the Pacific.

Judy Kass joined the Senior Management Team on September 1, 2002 as Director of Human Resources with responsibilities for all aspects of HR, benefits administration, payroll, facilities and risk management. She was awarded a promotion to Vice President of Human Resources in January 2006.
Judy is a native New Yorker who relocated to California in 1994. Her experience encompasses the high tech industry, insurance, reinsurance and education. She received her BS and MA from Brooklyn College, a division of the City University of New York.

Howard Botwinick, M.D., M.B.A., Associate Medical Director, joined MPMG as Associate Medical Director in November, 2005. Dr. Botwinick is responsible for outpatient utilization review and ED initiatives. His prior administrative experience includes Medical Director of the Memorial Hospital Emergency Department, an administrative fellowship at Team Heath West (a large emergency medicine group that staffs over 100 EDs), as well as management experience in the software industry prior to his becoming a physician. Dr. Botwinick is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and practiced as an Emergency Physician for seven years in Northern California before transitioning to medical management. Dr. Botwinick received his medical degree from the University of California at San Diego, an MBA in Health Care from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at UCLA.
